Fall in LoVE

With valentines right around the corner and I hate to admit this but my christmas decorations are still up :(. But it is so fun to put love in the air with valentine home decor.

This wood project is so beautiful! The lovely Angela Sawyer Lenssen of mom-e-memoirs decorated our wood Love Banner. She experemented with our 1/16 in. wood letters and used Making Memories Love Struck collection. Angela said, " I'd not covered wood with paper and embellished it... but Adornit has made such a great wood letter banner series (with instructions on the packaging even!) that I couldn't resist trying it out. Karen at Paper Pals had all the products and gave me the help I needed to do the project (She's great for that--stop in to the store for inspiration and assistance, too.)"

She adds spunk to the letters by adorning them with stickles glue, jewels, and ribbon. She also plays with layering to add dimension to the letters.

Thanks Angela for sharing your project and inspiring us!

This year we took everyone and my adorable little nephews where so much fun to watch. My favorite moment was when the boys met there idol Lightning McQueen. It was just so cute to watch. Here are a few highlights from the trip!

Adornit Blog Hop

Christmas time is my fav. season because of all the colors, shopping, yummy food, and lots of family parties. Decorating my home is another love and I love these hanging wood ornaments! I am going to hang them in the corner of my family room. I choose fun bright and kinda busy patterns. But it would also be fun to use a more monochromatic scheme of papers and more elegant papers. The possibility's are unlimited with this project! I used mod podge to adhere the paper to the wood and cut my ribbon at diff. lengths so that the ornaments will dangle at diff heights. Glitz them up with rhinestones and glitter glue.
Happy holidays and thanks for stopping by on our blog hop.

Please start at the beginning of the hop at www.adornitscrapbook.com/bloghop and if you already have please hop on over to the talented Sarah http://papertree.blogspot.com/

Halloween Decor-Project 1

Happy Halloween! It's coming up right around the corner. I love decorating my home for fall and I wanted to share some cute projects that I have custom graphic designed the art for. But you can easily adapt this look into your home. The pumpkin plaques look great hung on the wall as a group, or put them on easels (as shown) around your home. To make the pumpkin plaque just use a 8x8 wood board and cover with scrapbook paper, 2nd cut a pumpkin face out of chipboard and adorn it with orange glitter, 3 adhere the pumpkin face to the plaque and then decorate!

TRASH to FASH

Being newly married has left me with challenges to furnish my home on a budget. But this challenge has been very fun for me, because you have to be very creative and willing to see the potential in an item. So me and my hubby search for things to update and make our own. Our first project together was re-doing our bedroom dresser and a desk for my craft room. On Labor Day I decided to get a few things done on my long list of to do items. One item was an adorable sewing cabinet (that I snatched for ten bucks at a thrift store), a book shelf to put on my scrapbook desk, and a large mirror to attach to my bedroom dresser.

Before it was a worn out piece of wood that was really dark and all dinged up.

After it is a bright and funky addition to my craft room.

I painted the cabinet with a mint green interior paint. Then roughed it up with sand paper along the edges. To top it off I put on adorable ceramic knobs I bought from my fav. store Anthropologie!

Book shelf half finished 15 dollars

And my bedroom mirror that we bought for just 30 dollars

I will post pictures once I finish my shelf and mirror with updated photos. Hope this has inspired you to maybe take a new look at an old crummy piece of furniture and re-make it into something beautiful.
